Vekkle is a car checker that starts with the number plate and goes as deep as you need: official MOT and mileage history, clocking flags, what it's worth, write-off and finance checks, and a set of photo tools for when you can't get the plate or want to inspect the car. This page walks through every screen.
Open the app and type any UK registration into the plate box, then tap Check. In a couple of seconds you get the official record: make, model, first-used year, colour, fuel, engine size, the MOT status and tax status colour-coded, and the last recorded mileage.
Below that is the MOT history: every test with its result and mileage. Vekkle scans the mileages for you — if the odometer ever went backwards you see a red Mileage discrepancy banner with the dates and figures. Free accounts see the essentials of each test; Premium unlocks every advisory and defect in full.
Plate checks are unlimited on every plan. Only AI photo scans are metered.

Under the record you get grouped buttons for everything else you can do with this car:
Each result appears just below the buttons; the button shows a spinner while it works, and any problem is explained in place rather than silently ignored.
Tap Save to Garage and the car is kept, with its plate and record, on the Garage tab. Tap Add photos to attach your own pictures — from the camera or your library, with a quick crop step. Photos are stored with the car (three on the free plan, six with Premium) and no AI scan is used: the plate already told us what it is.
In the Garage, open the car to see Your photos. Tap any photo to make it the cover or remove it. The cover is used on the Garage card, the shareable spec card and the sale advert. Your Garage syncs to your account when you sign in, so it survives a lost phone.
The Garage tab also holds the daily spotting challenge, your badges and the leaderboard.

Can't get the plate — a show, traffic, a car park across the road? Scroll down on the Identify tab to Take a photo or Choose from library. A crop step lets you frame the car tight, which is the single biggest thing you can do for an accurate answer. Label the shot (front, rear, badge, interior) and tap Identify.
You get make, model, generation and trim with an honest confidence. When it's close, you see ranked alternatives and the app may ask for one more photo or a quick question. Confirm the right one to unlock Save to Garage and the spec card.
If you then type a plate and the official record disagrees with the photo, the app asks: same car, re-check the photo, or different car, start from this plate.

Tap Selling it? on any plate-checked car. Vekkle pulls the selling points buyers can verify on gov.uk — MOT length, clean mileage record, recent passes — suggests ask, accept and walk-away prices from the valuation, links to the places to list it, and writes a paste-ready advert.
Write-off check (£2.99, or five a month included with Premium): insurance loss markers — Cat S, Cat N, older categories — with the damage type and a plain verdict. Data provided by Experian.
Full history check (£7.99, £5.99 for Premium members): the pre-purchase deep dive — outstanding finance, stolen-vehicle marker and write-off history, plus valuation, MOT story and clocking flags in one report. See a sample report.
Reports are saved to your account permanently and can be re-read free for 30 days. On the phone you pay through the App Store; on the web, by card.
From the plate: the factory front and rear sizes, load and speed ratings, run-flat flag and pressures, with live per-tyre prices. From a photo of the sidewall or tread: the size read for you, wear estimate and safety flags.
Photograph a dent or scratch and get severity, repair options and realistic UK cost bands — useful before you haggle.
Identify a mystery part from a photo, or browse a priced catalogue of common parts for your exact car.
You can use Vekkle without signing in. A device-only account gets 3 AI scans an hour and 5 a day. Sign in — Apple, Google or a one-time code by email, no password — and that becomes 30 a month, your Garage syncs across devices, and your name can appear on the leaderboard.
The meter under the camera shows how many scans you have left and when they reset, updating after every scan. Plate checks never count.
Premium (£4.99 a month or £39.99 a year) unlocks every MOT advisory and defect, 5 write-off checks, 10 dealer valuations and 20 tyre-size lookups a month, damage repair cost breakdowns, 300 AI scans a month, and an unlimited Garage with six photos per car (the free plan holds 20 cars with three photos each; nothing is ever deleted if you cancel). Manage or cancel any time from your profile.
